Tsutsumi Square Wrap x Handstamped Batik - Little Daisies

This collection of handstamped batik prints are made by skilled artisans in Indonesia, using woodblocks with carved motifs to stamp onto cloth laid on a table... a process that requires lots of precision and patience. 

A collaboration with Heritage Bay (IG @heritage.bay), a local brand that seeks to tell the stories of Indonesian artisans specialising in handstamping batik. A bold jump into sharing the heart and soul of generations of craftsmanship. When you carry the Tsutsumi square wraps made with these handstamped batik prints, you carry the story of traditions and artisanal craftsmanship.  

Due to the specialised manual process of stamping the motifs on the fabric, there will be slight variations to the colour and pattern. And it is this variation that differ from bolt to bolt and print to print, that speaks of the intimate interaction between the artisans' hands and the final products... that is the beauty of batik.

The Tsutsumi Square Wrap uses a simple design of a square piece of fabric with velcro fasteners for easy closure and handles for quick pick-up and go. Given the flexible organic nature of fabric, the square wrap can be used to carry items of different shapes and sizes. The velcro fasteners secure the item in position, and the looped handle straps ensure that each square wrap is able to support weights up to 6kg.

The square wrap is reusable and washable, and is a good substitute for disposable plastic bags. Pack your food takeaways and small shopping items, or stow your library books in this convenient carrier that can be rolled up into a compact size when not in use.
