Collection: Handstamped Batik
This collection of handstamped batik prints are made by skilled artisans in Indonesia, using woodblocks with carved motifs to stamp onto cloth laid on a table... a process that demands precision and patience.
A collaboration with the owner of Heritage Bay (IG @heritage.bay), who seeks to tell the stories of Indonesian artisans specialising in handstamping batik. A bold jump into sharing the heart and soul of generations of craftsmanship. When you carry the Tsutsumi square wraps made with these handstamped batik prints, you carry the story of traditions and artisanal craftsmanship.
Due to the specialised manual process of stamping the motifs on the fabric, there will be slight variations to the colour and pattern. And it is this variation that differ from bolt to bolt and print to print, that speaks of the intimate interaction between the artisans' hands and the final products... that is the beauty of batik.
